Chloë Conger

Chloë’s father introduced her to Yoga when she was 16. Four years later, they trained together as teachers at The White Lotus Foundation in Santa Barbara. She has picked up all sorts of techniques from myriad other teachers on the way, and taught at Yoga Soup in Santa Barbara, UCSB, Aspen, Snowmass, Venice (CA), Thailand and Bali. She studied Anthropology and Drama at Stanford where she earned her BA and MA.

A student of Meditation for many years, mainly in the Theravaden tradition of Vipassana via Spirit Rock and Wat Kow Tham, she wishes to share practices that have helped her relax, breathe into the scary places and appreciate things just as they are. In 2013 she did her first month long silent meditation retreat and Byron Katie's School for the Work.  She is now studying with the Hendricks Institute to become a certified coach, and as a teacher of Radical Wholeness with Philip Shepherd.

More than dogma or poses, she is interested in stopping the struggle and being free, open hearted, and full of love. To this end she draws from many teachers and traditions in addition to Buddhism, including Advaita Vedanta, mystic poets, Byron Katie, transpersonal psychology and anyone who can see through the belief in the separate self and have a good laugh. Healing happens when the big Self, our "oceanness," touches- is intimate and joined with- the little human self, our "waveness." When the salt of our sorrow and pain is held in the endless lake of awareness the water remains pure and clear. May we remember who we really are.

Between Santa Barbara, CA and Aspen, CO, she is currently offering privates and developing workshops.

Chloe Conger, LMP, integrates dynamic Thai Massage into a soothing and nurturing Esalen massage, with long, flowing, full-body strokes.  Her technique includes deeper, focused work; rocking, stretching and passive joint mobilization.  Depending on the needs of her client she may incorporate rhythmic Shiatsu to awaken pressure points and move chi.  She practices massage privately in Santa Barbara, CA, at the San Ysidro Ranch and Tassajara Zen Monastery.

Chloe trained as a Integrative Nutrition Health Coach at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN), which integrates all the different dietary theories—combining the knowledge of traditional philosophies like Ayurveda, Chinese Medicine, and Indigenous Foodways; with modern concepts like the glycemic index, anti-inflammatory foods, living (raw) foods, and much more.
